Right in the center of Lisbon, in an ethnic neighborhood and a popular street with shops (rua do benformoso), this apartment was refurbished in early 2024.
It's within easy reach of the main tourist attractions, as well as the Martim Moniz metro, buses and streetcars.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor, WITHOUT elevator, of an old, authentic building.
There are shops right next door, open 7 days a week.
The apartment
With 2 air-conditioned bedrooms (reversible air-conditioning with heating), a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, separate toilet and a small bathroom with shower, you'll feel right at home. The apartment has been redesigned by a renowned architect, who has given it back all its cachet while bringing in the modernity expected today.
The living room is bright and airy, and offers comfortable dining. It overlooks the busy street (mostly pedestrians, very few cars)
The bedrooms overlook the quiet backyard.
This apartment is fully equipped to ensure you enjoy your stay (TV, fiber/WIFI, air conditioning in bedrooms, dishwasher, washer/dryer, small fridge, multi-function oven and hob).
Traveler access
You'll be greeted directly by our local helper, who will hand over the keys. We prefer this to self-guided arrivals, as you'll be able to ask any questions you may have and get useful information for the start of your stay.
You'll have the whole apartment to yourself. We'll provide you with dishwasher detergent, as well as a few basics for the kitchen and shower.
The whole apartment is at your disposal.
There's a Nespresso machine, so bring your own capsules! (Note that the coffee in the bars is excellent and extremely cheap!)

- Apartment for 4 people. It is not possible to accommodate more people.
- The apartment is not suitable for families with babies, as there is no cot available and it is on the 3rd floor with no elevator and a rather steep staircase (60 steps to climb)
- Not suitable for elderly people for the same reasons (no elevator and steep staircase)
- No parties allowed in the apartment. No noise allowed in the evening to keep the building quiet.
- If you are a group of girls, please read the comments carefully before booking. The apartment is located in a very popular, hyper-central area of Lisbon with people walking in the street, often men. Some have seen drug sales taking place in the street. There have never been any problems with tourists, but some people prefer quieter, more peaceful off-center areas. Please consider this information before booking.
I cannot cancel the reservation myself for this reason, as I am not a Lisbon city manager.
- Entry to the premises: a supplement of €20 will be charged for arrivals after 9pm (to be paid directly to the person handing over the keys).
- Lost keys will be charged €40.
- Local taxes and ID: a local government tax of €2 per day per tenant (except children under 12) will be applied directly to your reservation by Airbnb and your ID number will be collected for submission to the authorities as required by local law. This tax is only applicable for stays of less than 7 days.
- Please be environmentally friendly and turn off lights and air conditioning when you leave the apartment.
